Born in Transylvania, Romania, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in her forties. Her name reunites both her Romanian past and her American present.
Growing up in communist Romania, she found her refuge in reading and writing. At the age of 14, she won Someș Literary Presences - a Transylvanian poetry contest, setting a record as the youngest poet ever to receive such an honor. Later on, her writing skills gained recognition in the 1989 National Contest of Romanian Language and Literature, and the 2011 National Contest of Romanian Poetry and Short Prose.
On Earth Day 2022, she published her first poetry book Terrans: To MotherShip Terra's Stewards, with Love, an Amazon bestseller in inspirational poetry dedicated to our planet, that intriguingly and insightfully coalesces science fiction with spirituality.
In 2021 she was invited to contribute to an American collective book Wisdom of the Silver Sisters - Guiding Grace, a #1 Amazon international bestseller, recipient of the Firebird Award, and Barnes & Noble pick for the Biggest Books of the Fall. The success of this book lead to a second collective volume in 2022, Golden Wisdom of Love Legends and Legacies, another #1 Amazon bestseller that Nicoleta added to her writing journey.
A preview of her upcoming novel, Umäni, was published in 2023 in The Imaginist: Fairy Tales, Folklore, and Fables, an anthology of short stories.
She is also a licensed Romanian<>English translator and interpreter, teaches Romanian language and culture courses to American students, and provides linguistic services for Duolingo, the world's most popular language learning app.
"American English has been shaped by countless voices from all over the world who settled on this blessed land and joined in speaking a language for all. I am one of them. Today I think, speak, read, write, and dream in English. It became the other language of my soul, with glimpses of Romanian heritage shining through my newly found voice." - Nicoleta Taylor
"One of the treats of reading Nicoleta's book is knowing that this talented writer's first language is Romanian. She has, as she describes it, "channeled" her words entirely in English. She touches us with this moving tribute and reminds us that love is the crucial element by which we and our planet survive." - Betsy
